Solutions for the Mining Industry

Our dust management system is environmentally friendly and consists of two specialized products. First, SarAnti-Dust, an organic fluid is applied to high traffic areas such as haul roads. Easy to use, SarAnti-Dust is absorbed by the dust particles thus stabilizing them, even when they are exposed to a constant stream of heavy mining equipment. The second product is SarAnti-Dust, an acrylic polymer which is applied to the non traffic areas such as soft shoulders, adjacent stockpiles and embankments. SarAnti-Dust polymer forms a tough protective film that stops the dust created by the vacuum effect of passing vehicles. When applied to stock piles and embankments, ES-JS-5100 protects against sediment run-off plus wind and water erosion.

AGREGUA (Aggregates of Guatemala) supplies aggregates for a variety of large construction projects in Guatemala and neighboring Latin American countries. In the dry summer months the mine struggles to control large amounts of fugitive dust. Because of the effects of dust on human health, the environment and even equipment, controlling dust has become a fundamental part of mine management. Tired of the time involved and the increasing expense of constantly watering to control dust, AGREGUA was looking for a cost effective, long term dust control solution. They experienced dramatic results after trying our “dust management system”.

The decision to use the “dust management system” has worked on many levels for the AGREGUA mine. Financially when they assessed their the ROI (return on investment), using our system just made sense. They discovered the hidden cost of using water. Add it up; the cost of water, plus labor and equipment, then multiply it by the number of applications. Many times AGREGUA watered 2-3 times each day. Compare that to using our “dust management system.” One application stops dust, not for days or weeks but for the entire dry season. Plus, when it’s time to re-apply it is done at a much lower rate. The result is an ongoing, cost effective, long lasting dust control program.
